ERLANGEN, October 1, 2018 – Elektrobit (EB)—a leading developer of cutting-edge, embedded, and connected technology products and solutions for the automotive industry—has made the new version of its established analysis tool, EB solys, available as a free, open source download. As of today, users interested in optimizing their software development processes with EB solys Version 2.0 can also utilize end-to-end consultancy and training services directly from the creators of the tool at EB.
Technologies like highly automated driving and connected features require more complex software than ever before. EB solys Version 2.0 simplifies such highly complex software development projects to help car makers and suppliers save significantly more time and cost in software development and bug fixing than with other analysis tools in the market. The customizable tool is platform-agnostic and simplifies the verification of automotive system behaviors in a run-time environment to help lessen the required time to market.
“Software development is becoming more and more complex, while the stakes are getting higher,” says Martin Schleicher, Executive Vice President Business Management at EB. “By making EB solys accessible to a wider community that is also outside the automotive industry, we hope to encourage talented developers to continuously improve their processes and create even better embedded systems for tomorrow.”
As EB solys becomes open source with Version 2.0, Elektrobit will continue to provide end-to-end consulting services and training to support new and experienced users during every phase of their development processes. With more than 30 years of experience in software development and testing, EB can help users integrate, customize, or further develop the source code based on their individual requirements.
Despite its automotive roots, EB solys’s open architecture allows it to be used beyond the industry. Developers are invited to adapt the tool to other markets or development environments, such as telecommunications, healthcare, or aerospace. The EB solys Version 2.0 also includes new features like native support for DLT (Diagnostic Log and Trace) logs, which enables users to monitor live logs coming from a DLT daemon over a TCP connection. Users also have the ability to import event logs in a flexible JSON format.
The EB solys Version 2.0 source code can be downloaded on Github under the Eclipse Public License 2.0 license.
