The challenge
Aptiv was nominated by a German OEM for the development and integration of an ADAS ECU complying with the GSR2.
For sophisticated functional and system level testing of the object detection function, hardware-in-the-loop systems were required to (re)simulate the data communication of the surrounding ECUs by replaying test drive data to Aptiv’s ADAS ECU.
Constraints:
- Developing and delivering a fully operational solution in a short time in parallel to the dynamic ECU development.
- Replay of video and (FlexRay) vehicle bus communication including time synchronization between these two data streams.
- Complex initialization of the ECU (HiL mode) based on replay data prior to every reprocessing run.
- Sophisticated diagnosis functionality to easily detect (ECU / HiL farm / overall system) malfunction during reprocessing runs.
The solution
Holistic replay HiL solution:
- Time-synchronized, highly precise re-injection of FlexRay and Video
data - ADTF based solution which can be tailored to the test cases by adapting the ADTF configuration or HiL jobs.
- Assessment of high-quality data replay by “Precision & Correctness” report, also accepted as proof by the object detection chip vendor.
- Highly skilled, dedicated project team closely interacting with the customer to support the ECU development with flexible feature implementation and valuable feedback on ECU software implementation.
- HiL system which can easily be integrated into the HiL farm, enabling communication with the data center (input / output data), the video (de)serializer (MTA) and the ECU.
