Elektrobit Partners with NETA Auto and HiRain Technologies to Redefine Automotive Innovation with NETA Auto’s First Advanced Gateway Controller

Products: EB corbos
Categories: ECU development & AUTOSAR

The challenge

Elektrobit partnered with NETA Auto and HiRain Technologies to develop NETA Auto’s first integrated gateway domain controller project, Haozhi Super Computing XPC-S32G platform. This project is intended for NETA Auto’s new models, expected to be released in the second half of 2024.

Constraints:

The project involves adopting a future EE architecture (SOA) and is NETA Auto’s first cross-domain controller project, combining Central Gateway, Body, Power Torque and Vehicle Thermal Management. The requirements include a tight schedule, cost-effectiveness, reduced complexity, high performance, reliability, scalability, and interoperability.

The solution

HiRain Technologies uses Elektrobit’s Adaptive AUTOSAR solution to build their first mass production cross-domain controller for the new EE architecture that will be featured in NETA Auto’s new line of vehicles. Since 2023, Elektrobit has provided HiRain Technologies access to its HPC portfolio – including its best-in-class 2nd generation HPC middleware, EB corbos AdaptiveCore and EB corbos Studio to create the AUTOSAR Adaptive-based software platform for the new controller. This enables ECUs for the NETA Auto’s Haozhi Super Computing XPC-S32G platform architecture with safe, secure, flexible, updatable, and high-performance functionality. In addition, Elektrobit’s engineering services have been an integral part of the relationship with HiRain Technologies, providing seamless integration services that deliver secure, safe, on-time, and in-budget software systems.

Benefits

NETA Auto and HiRain Technologies selected Elektrobit as part of their initiative to drive scalable EE architecture, enabling them to bring new controllers quickly and efficiently to market. Using Elektrobit’s Adaptive AUTOSAR solution, HiRain Technologies ensures that the new controllers meet the demands of modern automotive systems by offering a robust framework that supports dynamic software updates, high-bandwidth data processing, and advanced safety and security features essential for today’s connected vehicles. Using Elektrobit software and engineering services, NETA Auto and HiRain Technologies have been able to accelerate the development of new controllers on NXP’s advanced high-performance S32G automotive network processor. Elektrobit software and solutions have enabled HiRain Technologies to develop integrated electronic control units (ECUs) more easily, reducing both development time for innovative new features and hidden costs, without compromising quality, safety, and security. The Adaptive AUTOSAR platform has streamlined the integration of complex functionalities across various domains, thereby enhancing the overall performance and reliability of the controllers. Consequently, NETA Auto can offer advanced, feature-rich vehicles to their customers, strengthening their market position.

Elektrobit’s added value

Elektrobit software powers over five billion devices in more than 600 million vehicles. It bridges the three segments of the emerging software-defined vehicle marketplace: traditional car makers, industry newcomers, and tech giants. It offers car infrastructure software, connectivity and security, automated driving and related tools, and user experience. While the software-defined mobility revolution represents a shift in mindset and approach for many, for Elektrobit, it is second nature.

“Our collaboration with HiRain Technologies and Elektrobit marks a significant advancement in NETA Auto’s technological innovation and smart transformation efforts. The development of the Haozhi Super Computing XPC-S32G platform integrates cutting-edge E/E architecture and SOA software design principles, while incorporating features of high performance, reliability and scalability. This will greatly enhance the competitiveness of our products. We are confident that the successful implementation of this integrated gateway domain controller project will provide a more intelligent and personalized driving experience and further solidify our leading position in the new energy vehicle market,” said Dai Dali, CTO at NETA Auto.

“It has been truly exciting to collaborate on this first integrated gateway domain controller project with Elektrobit,” said Dr. Fan Chengjian, Deputy General Manager at HiRain Technologies. “HiRain Technologies has been pushing the boundaries of innovation by radically transforming to next-generation E/E system design. We are pleased to be working with Elektrobit in enabling next generation of iconic ECUs.”

“China is just such an incredibly dynamic space for all manner of software but particularly automotive. From the beginning we welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with HiRain Technologies and are looking forward to seeing this new generation of ECU introduced into NETA Auto’s Haozhi Super Computing XPC-S32G platform,” said Mike Robertson, Chief Product Officer and Managing Director at Elektrobit.
